You have been learning about specific strategies for keeping safe  and not becoming a target, at school, on the street  and on the Internet.  We have talked about staying alert, walking with confidence, dating abuse, sexual assault, internet safety, sexting, and password safety.  SARSSM also spoke to you about sexual assault.  This included a lesson focusing on stereotyping, the victim as well as the rapist.  The perpetrator is always responsible, not the victim.  You learned about the importance of supporting the victim not the perpetrator.  We often tend to let our emotions lead us instead of common sense.  We need to listen to our instincts.  If it doesn't feel or seem right, it probably isn't.   Remember it takes the average person at least three minutes to figure out what to do in a crisis situation and by that time he/she could be a statistic.  It is important to have a plan.   I am hoping that you now have a plan.

One of the keys to good mental health is understanding that you have control over your own thinking and actions and have no control over how others feel and act.

How can having a plan help you from becoming a victim of a crime?    Please include how having a plan will help you to keep your Health Triangle balanced on all three sides (physical, mental/emotional and social).

Having a plan will help you from being a victim of a crime because you will know what to do. This will help to keep you Health Triangle balanced because it will keep you loyal to others and respect other people. Also physically you will get more sleep and will keep you from doing drugs and will help you avoid unnecessary risks.Last it will help mentally/emotionally because then you will express your feelings more and remain open.

I think that having a plan would help you from becoming a victim of crime because you would be more aware of your surroundings and you would know what do do in a crisis situation. You wouldn't wait for three minutes to react like most people would because you would know what you're doing. This relates to the health triangle because you should avoid unnecessary risks and you shouldn't do drugs or drink alcohol.

I think that having a plan will help from becoming a victim in a crime because then you will know what to do in a situation where you are a victim. Having a plan will help you keep your health triangle balanced because you should avoid unnecessary risks, make good choices, and don't do drugs.

Having a plan can help prevent you from becoming a victim of crime because if you have a plan you will know what to do in situations you are not normally in. This and could stop you from being attacked or raped. This is related to the health triangle because if you are alert, avoid dark places, walk with sense, don't do drugs, and never hitchhike you are less likely to get a victim.

Having a plan can help you from being a victim of crime because if you are about to be rapped then you know what to do to defend yourself. The plan that you come up with will help the tree sides of the health triangle for you because if you are rapped then you won't be able to sleep because can't stop thinking about i, which is the physical health. Also if you get drunk it will make you more vulnerable, which is damaging your mental/emotional health. Lastly if you are rapped then you might not want to tell someone which is bad for your social health.

When you have a plan, you'll always be prepared and ready to act in a situation that could be dangerous. This relates to the health triangle in many ways. Concerning physical health, avoiding alcohol and drugs will keep you at a lower risk of becoming a victim. As far as mental/emotional health, developing effective decision making skills will also lower your risk, and as part of social health, learning to communicate effectively will come in hand during a bad situation

Having a plan can help you from becoming a victim of
abuse,an assault, rape, etc. by showing you what you can do to decrease the chances of such an event.
If you are healthy and you know what to do to protect yourself if this occurs, the chances of you being assaulted are lower.

Having a plan can help you from becoming a victim of a crime, because you'll know what to do if something goes wrong. Without a plan, a lot of people freeze up, and that gives them a bigger chance of becoming a victim.

Having a plan will help you to keep your Health Triangle balanced on all three sides because you'll know how to protect yourself

Having a plan can help us by making sure we know what to do when something bad were to happen. Like checking under a car at night or walking with confidence. Or putting keys in between your fingers if your around someone that might be dangerous. Keeping yourself safe. Also it will keep your health triangle healthy because it's always on your mind and so you stay mentally health. You can keep yourself physically safe by having some defenses method. Also staying socially healthy can be by only talking to be people you know and being with an adult or a trusted person when you meet new people.

Having a plan can save a life from the moment you see a problem to the moment you become a victim. A plan will teach yourself what to do in a situation you need it for. When a stranger walks up to you your body controls itself, but when you have a plan and practice it. Your body will know what to do immediately. Only because your body has practiced it and has done it before. It can save your life or even anothers.
